Newton College is
a co-educational British school with bilingual teaching (English/Spanish).
Established in 1991, the school is independent, not subsidized and
is tolerant of all religions. It is registered in the Valencian
Region's Schools' Register and is a member of the British Schools
Association of Spain, the International Baccalaureate Organisation,
and ACADE (self-governing Private Teaching Centres Association).
The college has been innovative since its founding and was one of
the first in the area to introduce bilingual English/Spanish teaching.
Newton College meets all the requirements demanded by Spanish law
and its studies are approved in Spain and the UK. It teaches both
the English and Spanish programme and has adopted the Middle Years
and Diploma Programmes of the International Baccalaureate Organization.
German is introduced during secondary education and the Valencian
language is taught from the third year of primary education.
The multi-lingual and multi-cultural character of Newton College
reflects one of its fundamental aims, which is to achieve the competent
use of English by all its pupils and familiarize them with the life
and culture of other countries.
Newton College offers a complete and individualized education within
an agreeable environment where pupils receive stimulation and motivation
in all aspects of their education.
The school aims to develop the skills, concepts, attitudes and moral
values necessary for each child to have her/his place in the world
as an active member of society and to contribute to it in a responsible
way, being able to be as independent as possible.
